Indiana’s public holidays in 2018 provide a convenient time to stop by the Hoosier State’s numerous tourist attractions.

Indiana will have eight long holiday weekends during 2018, including two public holidays not kept in most others states: Good Friday on March 30th and Lincoln’s Birthday, which in Indiana, comes on the day after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 23rd).

Things to see and do in Indiana in 2018

Some ideas on how to spend your holiday weekend in Indiana during 2018 include:

Go to Lake Monroe, a wilderness park with a great variety of available activities. You can walk the scenic Pate Hollow Trail, camp right on the lake shore, boat and fish, and visit a number of highly interesting museums located nearby.

Visit Pokagon State Park, where you can fish Lake James or a number of smaller lakes and ponds, camp, hike, picnic, stop by the on-site nature center, and during the winter, have fun on the quarter-mile long toboggan run.

Enjoy the canyons, cliffs, and general abundance of natural beauty at Turkey Run State Park. Go for a scenic canoe trip down Sugar Creek, fish for the abundant bass and bluegill, or peruse the 19th-Century-built Lieber Cabin.
