Massachusetts Public Holidays 2018

This page contains a calendar of all 2018 Massachusetts public holidays. Please scroll down to view.

Massachusetts’ public holidays in 2018 will offer a perfect opportunity for touring the numerous historic sites and the natural beauty of the Bay State.

There will be as many as eight extended weekends in Massachusetts throughout 2018, including the one created by Patriots Day, which is celebrated only in Massachusetts and Maine. Patriots Day commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord, which were the scene of the “shot heard round the world” in 1775 and the beginning of the American Revolution.

Things to see and do in Massachusetts in 2018

Among the many offerings Massachusetts provides to fill your 2018 holiday weekends, are these popular getaway spots:

Cape Cod, the home of lighthouses, beaches, authentic, fresh New England seafood, and exciting deep-sea fishing opportunities. Be sure to see the Pilgrim Monument and ride the scenic Cape Cod Rail Trail.

Martha’s Vineyard, a resort island that lies to the south of mainland Massachusetts and that has a culture and history all its own. Hike the Manuel F. Correllus State Forest, see West Chop Lighthouse, or go on a fishing of boat tour in the surrounding waters.

Nantucket, another quaint, little island community in the Atlantic south of Massachusetts’ mainland. Here, you will find the Nantucket Whaling Museum, many old lighthouses, and the Maria Mitchell Observatory.
