Nebraska will have nine long holiday weekends to choose from in 2018, more than most other states. This includes the long weekend created by the Nebraska-only Arbor Day holiday on the final Friday of every April, an observance that began in Nebraska City in the mid-1800’s.
Kearney, Nebraska, is a small city of around 30,000 located in Buffalo County in the south-central part of the state.
Lincoln, Nebraska, is the state capital. It is a major tourist stop mainly for its museums, the state capital building, and other historic sites.
