New York Public Holidays 2018

This page contains a calendar of all 2018 New York public holidays. Please scroll down to view.

New York’s public holidays in 2018 are a great chance to get out and explore the Empire State, both city and countryside alike.

There will be up to eight long holiday weekends in New York in 2018, including two that are only public holidays in a handful of other states: Lincoln’s Birthday (Friday, February 12th) and Election Day (Tuesday, November 6th).

Things to see and do in New York in 2018

Some of the most popular “tourist magnets” in New York State to visit on your next public holiday include:

Bear Mountain State Park, where you can spy far-off skyscrapers from atop Perkins Memorial Tower, hike along the Hudson River, spy native wildlife, and see the remains of Fort Montgomery.

Walk through Central Park in the heart of New York City and be amazed at the tree life, bird life, and wild life that exist in the midst of a giant metropolis. Also stop by the Central Park Zoo for a look at the park’s “more exotic” wildlife.

See the Adirondack Mountains towering over the peaceful waters of Lake Placid. Hike or drive through the largest boreal forest on earth to the top of Whiteface Mountain or go fly fishing in the nearby Ausable River.
