Washington Public Holidays 2018

This page contains a calendar of all 2018 Washington public holidays. Please scroll down to view.

One of the best times to get out and explore the “Evergreen State” is during Washington’s public holidays in 2018 that create extended weekends.

There will be seven such extended holiday weekends in Washington State during 2018, including for New Year’s Day, which falls on a Monday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Christmas, with Christmas Eve on a Monday and Christmas itself on a Tuesday in 2018.

Things to see and do in Washington in 2018

There are many locations in Washington that are well worthwhile to visit and explore during your 2018 holiday weekend.

You can tour Bellingham, which sits on beautiful Bellingham Bay and in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains. Hike through Whatcom Falls Park for an unforgettable taste of nature, including waterfalls and swirling swimming holes. Also stop offshore to Lummi Island to enjoy the beach and peruse a number of local museums.

Use Port Angeles as a base for exploring Olympic National Park just to the south on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Hiking, fly fishing, bird watching, and “tide pooling” are all popular activities within the park.

Visit the San Juan Islands in Puget Sound. On Orcas Island, visit Moran State Park and several museums. On San Juan Island, see historic pioneer camps and visit Lime Kiln Point State Park. On Lopez Island, swim at a number of beaches and catch great views of the sea at Shark Reef Park.
